A Building Permit is required before most construction work can commence. As a registered Building Surveyor Practitioner (BSP2756), we assess building documentation and confirm compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards prior to the issue of a Building Permit.
We assess building documentation and provide certification required for building permit applications, including:
• Certificate of Design Compliance (BA3)
• Assessment of architectural drawings
• NCC compliance review
• Fire safety compliance assessment
• Access and facilities for people with disabilities
• Energy efficiency compliance
• Coordination with structural engineers and other specialists
• Architectural drawings (site plan, floor plans, elevations and sections)
• Structural engineering drawings and certification
• Energy efficiency report (if applicable)
• Specifications and construction details
• Any relevant specialist reports
Following assessment of the documentation, we may issue a Certificate of Design Compliance (CDC) confirming that the proposed building work complies with the National Construction Code. This certificate is then submitted to the local government as part of the Building Permit application.
Forms Required by Building Surveyor
BA3 – Certificate of Design Compliance (CDC)
Required for a Building Permit application. Confirms the proposed design complies with the NCC and applicable standards.
BA17 – Certificate of Construction Compliance (CCC)
Required for certain Class 2–9 buildings and Class 1b buildings to confirm the completed construction complies with the approved permit and NCC.
BA18 – Certificate of Building Compliance (CBC)
Used for existing or unauthorized structures to confirm compliance at the time of assessment (commonly required for retrospective approvals or building orders).
